2013 WFSAD Newsletter

The annual newsletter was sent out last week to all property owners in the Wildland Fire Suppression Assessment District (WFSAD). The Assessment District covers the Foothill and Extreme Foothill zones of Santa Barbara’s wildland urban interface. In addition to the chipping schedule, you will find a lot of information regarding the programs and projects provided by the district. The newsletter also contains material regarding defensible space and fire resistant landscaping. On the inside back cover, you will notice a defensible space checklist to help you maintain a safer environment around your home in the event of a wildfire. If you have any questions about defensible space, or would like to request a defensible space inspection, please contact the Fire Prevention Bureau at (805)965-5254.

We hope you enjoy this year’s newsletter, and we look forward to continuing the successful projects within the Assessment District. Every day the residents of Santa Barbara are creating a more fire safe place to live, and it all starts with you!
