Defensible Space Chipping - Las Canoas

Defensible Space Chipping for the Las Canoas chip area starts Monday, March 17th, for homeowners who are within the Wildland Fire Suppression Assessment District. If you are a resident of this chip area, please remember to have your piles out by the date posted.

Please remember to review the instructions for chipping that are printed in the annual newsletter and on the vegetation chipping notice you should have received prior to our crews chipping in your area. If you have any questions about the annual chipping program or would like to schedule a Voluntary Defensible Space Inspection, please contact Chris Braden with the Santa Barbara City Fire Department at 564-5737.

Get Ready for Defensible Space Chipping

Just a reminder to everyone in the Assessment District that we will be starting the annual Defensible Space Chipping program starting on March 3rd, 2014.

THERE HAVE BEEN CHANGES TO OUR CHIPPING SCHEDULE FOR ALL AREAS IN 2014. Please refer to the newsletter that was sent out  in January for the 2014 schedule and map to determine the appropriate time to place your cut vegetation out. 

2014 CHIPPING DATES

Put your vegetation out on roadways no sooner than two weeks and no later than day of your scheduled chipping. (Second passes will not be made)

Road Clearance for 2013 Complete

Our annual vegetation road clearance program has been completed for the 2013 year! We look forward to another successful year in 2014. Stay tuned to this blog and our website for news regarding the roads we will be clearing in 2014.
